Firefighters were called to a duplex on West Shaft Road in North Adams just before midnight on Tuesday, March 11, to find it fully engulfed in flames. Crews battled the blaze for about 90 minutes before getting it under control.

The homes were a total loss, leaving the families with nothing. Four people were injured in the blaze, but authorities have not released updates on their conditions.

A GoFundMe titled "Rebuild LaCosse and Cantoni Family's Lives After Tragic Fire" created Wednesday raised more than $48,000 by that evening, more than twice the campaign's goal with no sign of slowing down.

Along with cash, organizers are also collecting clothes to give to the victims. They are asking for men's large and 3XL shirts and shoes sized 9.5 and 13. Girl's clothing size 10 with shoes sized 1-3. And women's 3XL clothing with 9.5-sized shoes.
